Good evening, Hearties. How is everybody? I may be repeating myself to many of you, but has our breathing slowed down? Hopefully it’s not being interrupted by heaving sobs anymore.

Some of you know this already, but I actually managed to watch the season finale again on Friday. Call me brave or incredibly stupid and self-punishing, but I was shocked that I managed to do it less than a week after watching it the first time. I thought I wouldn’t be able to go back for a month or so. It’s amazing, but I found some new insights the second time around, and I hope you’ll join me on Friday for said views.

For now, we’re going back to something we haven’t done in months, since Season 5 started: #MeetYouMonday. And for today’s spotlight, I’m doing a real doll of a lady. I’ve never met her in person, but I can tell she’s someone special. She’s always one of the first people to read my blog, sometimes right after I publish it, and her words are always so kind and encouraging. So without further ado, may I introduce Judy Parker! Let’s get to know her!

1. Where are you from? If you’re living elsewhere, where are you living now?

-I am from Central Indiana.

2. Tell us about your family.

-I am a widow for almost 2 1/2 years. I have 3 adult children, an absolutely perfect daughter-in-law, and 2 simply perfect grandchildren: 1 girl and 1 boy.

3. What are your hobbies? What are you studying/did you study in school?

-No real hobbies to speak of. But Kami is a firm believer that watching WCTH counts as a hobby.

4. How did you find/discover WCTH?

-I watched the very first episode, and was not impressed. I thought, “This show is going nowhere, and it’s going to be cancelled.” I did not watch again until the first Christmas movie. I was hooked. Was I ever wrong about this show! I am now hooked still.

5. What is your favorite episode? Season?

-Favorite episode: Perils of the Soloist from Season 1. I don’t have a favorite season, but my favorite scene is Jack and Elizabeth’s last night together in the church in season 4 before he heads to the Northern Territories.

6. Who is your favorite character? Star of the show?

-Hard to say. Love Jack and Elizabeth together. (Yes, I wish Dan was coming back, but alas…)

7. Why are you a Heartie? Why do you love the show?

-It just seemed like the thing to do. Plus, I am nosy, and I need to see what is going on. I love the show for lots of reasons. It is just a very good show, and I am impressed with everyone involved for making it better with every episode. If and when it ends, I have a final scene in mind but will keep it to myself for now; although I read one today that was pretty darn good. Not sharing that yet either!

8. Anything else you enjoy, or anything you’d like to add?

-I remember the first time I saw Rosemary. I wanted to reach in the TV and slap her! Oh, how far she has come!

Thank you, Judy, for sharing with us. It’s always so fun to meet and learn about others who join us in our love for this series. We really do all come from so many different walks of life.

I think I’m feeling up to doing a post on Wednesday, so barring something happening, I’ll see you then!

Good morning, Hearties!  I thought I’d get the blog out a little earlier today! How is everyone this fine Monday morning?  Did anybody catch Signed Sealed Delivered? I’ll be watching it in a few minutes, and I’m so excited!  Speaking of excited, LESS THAN A WEEK, BABY!!! OH YEAH! UH HUH! DOING MY HAPPY DANCE! Oh, wait, I still have a blog to write!  Okay, I’m calm now…calmish.  Remember, if you’re going to be around the Austin, TX area on the evening of Monday the 19th, let me know.  You’re more than welcome to come to my premiere party!

Since this is going to be the last #MeetYouMonday for a while, (next Monday starts #Monday’sMusings where I discuss Sunday’s brand-new episode,) I thought I’d do something special.  I’d like to spotlight a very special Heartie indeed: my mom!  She graciously let me interview her.  It was fun since I pretty much knew the answers, but I liked getting them from her perspective. So here’s the skinny on the woman who raised the Hooked Heartie! Fasten your seatbelts!

Q: Where are you from? If you’re living elsewhere, where are you living now?

A:  I grew up in Woodland and Battleground, Washington.  (That’s where MY best friend lives!  Talk about coincidence!)  I moved to Texas so my husband could get his PhD from the University of Texas, and we never left.

Q: Tell me about your family. (HA HA!)

A: I come from a family of 5 kids, 2 boys and 3 girls.  I’m the second oldest, but the oldest girl.  I met my hero, my husband, in college, and we were married 2 ½ months later.  I have 5 sons, and 1 daughter; the poor thing was at the tail end!  They’re all married with families of their own, and in April, I will have 30 grandchildren! (MY baby!)

Q: What are your hobbies? What are you studying/did you study in school?

A: I majored in English Lit. with a minor in Business.  I took a break to get married and have children, and finished my degree 2 weeks before my daughter was born.  For over 30 years, my husband and I worked together giving consulting workshops on personality/teaching/learning styles; as well as marriage and parenting seminars.  Even though my husband has passed away, I still do some workshops when asked. I have 2 small businesses, as well as teach piano, and I work at our church’s student life center on the UT campus. (This woman does NOT let grass grow under her feet!) My hobbies, when I can actually do them, include: camping, hiking, reading, boating, and traveling.  My big trip that I didn’t realize was a dream until I actually planned it was going to Israel a few years ago.  INSPIRATIONAL!

Q: How did you find/discover WCTH?

A: One night, my daughter kept talking about this show she’d found on Netflix that we absolutely HAD to watch together.  I didn’t know how I was going to fit in in my schedule with everything I had to do, but I agreed.  She could tell I was stressed because about 30 minutes beforehand, she offered to cancel.  I said no, I didn’t want to; but she couldn’t ask me to watch more than 1 episode.  She said, and I quote, “I wouldn’t dream of it.” We finally sat down to watch together.  About 15 minutes before the 1st episode ended, I asked her, “How long are these episodes?” “About 40 minutes,” she said slyly.  “Let’s watch one more!” I begged.  She started giggling, and I knew it was over!

Q: What is your favorite episode? Season?

A: I just love the proposal! It’s delightful, heartwarming and romantic!

Q: Who is your favorite character? Star of the show

A: Jack is my favorite character, and Daniel Lissing is my favorite star. Who wouldn’t love a Mountie, especially one THAT cute! But Paul Greene is also a huge favorite of mine!

Q: Why are you a Heartie?

A: Because my DAUGHTER got me HOOKED! (Guilty as charged!  I gotta live up to my name!)

Well, Hearties, there you have it; some of my roots.  I hope this has put some sunshine in your heart, and a smile on your face.  Join me on Wednesday for a special VALENTINE’S DAY blog.  And if you don’t read it until Thursday because you’re spending the day with someone you love…I guess I’ll forgive you.  Toot-a-loo!

Hello, Hearties! For today’s #MeetYouMonday, my darling sister-in-law agreed to let me spotlight her! She’s such a good sport! And I was surprised to find out how much I didn’t know. So here’s how the interview went down:

Where are you from: I’m from the great state of Texas!

Tell us about your family: (This made me giggle, since I know all about her family. But I wanted her point of view.): I have a big family, and they’re loud. We like to hang out together. I have 6 siblings, 4 brothers and 2 sisters, 4 siblings-in-law, 2 nieces, 2 nephews, with a nephew on the way, and I’m their favorite aunt. We raise animals, we like board games, and we’re very active in LDS faith, i.e. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

What are you studying? What are your hobbies: I’m studying psychology. I like kayaking, hiking, reading, movies, and WCTH. I also enjoy running, and I recently discovered a love of tennis; I’m still learning though. I have a goal to do more extreme sports, and be more athletic. I want to try bungee  jumping and water rafting one day, and I’m currently training for a 5K marathon.

How did you discover WCTH: Stumbled across it on Netflix. I was REALLY sad Season 3 wasn’t loaded on there before I left on my 18-month missionary service to Brazil. I left with the Season 2 cliffhanger in my head.

What is your favorite episode: It’s a toss-up between the mine and the proposal. Love those!

Who’s your favorite character: Abigail. She’s just so cool! She is independent, and gets things done. She’s also super friendly, strong, funny, caring, service-oriented. On top of that, she bakes and she’s mayor of the town! She’s great all around.

Favorite star: Pascale Hutton. She has a wide range of acting ability, and fills the role very well.

Why do you love the show: It gives me something to talk about with my sister-in-law. 😉 It’s a good, clean, and moral show, and it also has a love story. It’s hard to find a good TV show today. They’re too crazy or too vulgar, and this one can be enjoyed by whole family.

One of the biggest reasons I wanted to interview Laura is I wanted to include a Facebook post she did a few weeks back. I think all of you will have a giggle! Don’t worry! I have her permission.

“After watching several hallmark Christmas movies these last few days I have discovered the secret to finding the perfect man and getting married.

Step 1.) Go to a small town that loves celebrating the holidays, located near the mountains and stay in a cabin.

Step 2.) Find the 1 extremely good looking man in the town, argue slightly and then begin to fall in love with each each other.

Step 3.) Have a pivotal argument that makes you two go separate ways. Then realize how much the two of you love each other and run back for the other.

Step 4.) kiss and make up and live happily ever after.

I need to make plans with Michelle Clements for us to do this next Christmas. If it works for hallmark it should work for us!”

Then my husband got in on it, and commented this:

“You forgot the part about being in a dead end relationship where they care for each other and one is unwilling to take the next step or they are completely incompatible in every single way and you wonder how they even got together in the first place.”

My sister-in-law Michelle, who is being dragged into these plans, had this to say:

“Why wait Laura, with Hallmark channel this could happen at any time of the year. Winter fest is next which will include meeting a prince, then it will be Valentine movies in small towns, then spring fling movies, then June weddings….   I think we could make this happen before Christmas. Now what small town to go to? 😊”

Well, Laura, I think you’ve got the perfect plan pegged!

Hey, everybody! I’m Sharleen, today’s #MeetYouMonday Heartie! Here’s a little bit about me. It’s short, and to the point; I didn’t have to do a lot of typing, and you don’t have to do a lot of reading. So here it goes:

I am originally from the Rockies but now live in Texas. My family includes a wonderful husband and 4 kids that keep me hopping!

I love reading, photography, sewing, teaching my kids piano and math, and I love to watch period pieces, like…hmm…When Calls the Heart, of course!

How did I find WCTH? Funny story, that! My mother-in-law introduced me to it, and I feel bad that I went into it thinking I wouldn’t like it, because boy was I wrong!! Such a great show, and thanks to Kami, for keeping me addicted. 🙂

My favorite is Season 1 Episode 12. I love beginnings more than middles or ends. So while I am enjoying all of the seasons, this episode is my favorite. I love the artwork gift from Jack for Elizabeth, the kiss, and that Rosemary is staying in town. Ha!

My favorite charater: I’m going with the masses. Jack. He just radiates goodness and he is easy on the eyes!

I love being a Heartie! This show is filmed beautifully, is full of well-developed characters that are easy to love, and has so many good morals that it teaches. I love that this is a show that I can watch with my daughters, sisters, and mother-in-law, and friends. It is a great way to bond.

To wish you all a Merry Christmas, here’s a picture I drew of me and my family; so…MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hi! I’m Tiffany Methot, I’m 28 years old and I love WCTH!!

I’m originally from Utah, but moved to Texas when I was 17. There is a bumper sticker that says, “I wasn’t born in texas, but I got here as fast as I could.” Truth.

I have been married for 7 years to an incredible man who recently became a chiropractor. We have three beautiful children, ages 5, 4 and 2 making our house messy and busy, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

I was a ballerina for a number of years, and still love to dance when I get the chance. My hobbies include crochet, trying new dessert recipes, binge watching my favorite shows, and trying new makeup tutorials in my spare time. I would love to be a makeup artist, motivational speaker, and a published author someday.

I heard about WCTH through other friends I had on facebook. They wouldn’t stop raving about it, and so, after some time, I decided to give it a try. I loved it! WCTH is so different than anything else out there, because it’s clean, and wholesome! I love how uplifting it is, and the morals that it teaches. I fell in love with hope valley, and all the things that it has to offer. I would love to visit there in real life, and try some of Abigail’s delicious cooking!! I have a feeling that Elizabeth and I would be good friends…

My favorite episode is of course season 4 episode 7. The one with the proposal. It was the perfect proposal for Jack and Elizabeth. Very well acted, and beautifully set up. It gave me all the feels!! Just ask Kami. She knows.

I love Erin Krakow/Elizabeth Thatcher. Her acting in the show is just so real and sincere. She believes what she is portraying, and her emotion never feels rushed or forced. Elizabeth is a powerhouse, but doesn’t realize it at first. I love how much she has come into her own throughout the series. She’s grown so much and it looks great on her!

Kami is a dear friend and we enjoy watching the show together, when we can. Can’t wait to see the Christmas special!!
